about

biography: Rosalind Shoopmann currently lives in Los Angeles, where she is pursuing a PhD at UCLA. Her work has appeared in Contemporary Verse 2, Boats Against the Current, Imposter Review, and elsewhere.

memoir: Hi, I’m Rosalind. It’s okay to call me “Ros” or “Roz” and it’s okay for friends to call me “Rosie.” I’ve moved about 30 times in my life, so I’m not really from anywhere in particular. (The longest I’ve ever lived in one place continuously is two years). I take a lot of walks, I watch a lot of movies, and sometimes I eat large tomatoes in the manner of an apple–the “pomodoro technique.” I used to like baking but then I worked as a baker for several years, and now I don’t like baking anymore.

about the blog: The title of Ducks on the Pond comes from baseball lingo. Ducks on the Pond is for placing stuff I want to write but don’t want to put much effort into publishing, so it updates irregularly.
